Founded in 1880 on the banks of the Cher River, Fonty, “La Filature de Rougnat,” is one of the last wool spinning and dyeing mills still in operation in France.
Awarded the “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Company) designation in 2017, this traditional mill has been preserving exceptional craftsmanship—passed down from generation to generation—for over 145 years. The EPV designation recognizes companies that possess outstanding craftsmanship, acknowledged as rare and valuable.
